Nocturnes [Digital Download]
In this new album, pianist Peggy Reich brings together works spanning centuries, from the delicate clarity of John Field, who first gave the nocturne its voice, to the emotional depth of Chopin, the color and curiosity of Poulenc, and the unexpected shadows of Scriabin and Barber, along with voices like Clara Schumann, Liszt, Fauré, and Grieg, each adding their own atmosphere to the evolving language of the night.
Rather than presenting these works as separate moments, the album allows them to gently echo one another, revealing both contrast and continuity across time.
This collection is meant for slow evenings, reflective moments, and spaces where you want the world to soften, offering music that unfolds quietly and lingers long after it ends.
